I have no water. Woodrow contacted me this morning to let me know that the pump was running and wouldn't turn off, so he ran out and unplugged it. The water tank is empty. We are in a big drought down here, and they are saying that a lot of the wells are running dry. If my well is dry, it will cost thousands to dig the well deeper, not to mention having to take down the fence to get the guys in there with their big drilling truck.
However I've been told that it is less likely that a dry well is my problem, as my home is only four years old. So my well should be deep enough. We hope. Fox Plumbing will be out later today to take a look.
If the well isn't dry, it could be something minor like a float switch. Or it could be my submersible pump down in my well has gone out, in which case I'm probably looking at $800-1000 for a new one. Or it could be that the well is deep enough, but the pump isn't deep enough down in it. We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck! Fingers and toes all crossed!

I'm crossing mine for you too!
I'm sorry that you're going through this. Wells can be tricky things to deal with. We draw our water from the lake.
Oh my! Now I have to keep reading to see if you blogged about the results.
